42 /7 = 6 : six weeks to go

Just six weeks to go!  We just booked a table at a Tokyo Terrace bar, a guide for Kyoto and now I am weighing tour options for Angor Wat, looking groovy

Robots in Tokyo

Only 42 days until we will be in the air on our way to Tokyo. We are making reservations for a variety of restaurants across Asia. Of course, Fritz is looking to eat new fish, meat, birds, snakes, etc., so many of the places were chosen because they offer something funky! We will be going to a crazy restaurant in Tokyo - it's all about robots. We think their "dress code" is quite funny - click on the link to see it. Robot Restaurant

50 days till our trip of a lifetime begins. Fritz got his hat this week and I got some snazzy underwear. We are very excited that our niece and her family will be taking care of our dog, PICKLES We are ready to go now but we have to wait 49 more days!

Full moon tonight one more to go till we go.

53  Days.  Putting the finishing touches on Singapore.  We have a full moon tonight, April 15.  After that there is only one more full moon here in the US until we are on the trip.  We are treated to two full moons over there.  One in Japan and one in Singapore.

What is this blog all about?

Leslie and I have have been exploring the idea of a grand tour of Asia for almost 5 years.  We bought some books, examined every possible website, and started talking to other world travelers to get more insider information. 

We will travel to 9 different countries over 37 days and we have many exciting activities planned.  In chronological order we will visit Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malayasia, Thailand and finally Singapore. We will visit scores of world heritage sites, six of the top ten tallest structures in the world, seas, bays, rivers and more.  It will be a trip of extremes: we will ride slow elephants and high speed trains; we will stay in the middle of crowded Tokyo and on the sleepy side of a Ko Phi Phi island in the Andaman Sea; we will fly first class in a 777 over the Pacific ocean and coach in a small plane over the jungles of Laos. This is going to be a monumental celebration of 10 years married and 25 years of love!!!
