We kept driving after the Capitol Building and zigged and zagged to the Washington Monument where we stopped again and then to the Jefferson for some more pictures. We had a blast even though the driver's commentary was a bit too much. Off to high tea we go!
National Art Museum
Yet another Greek styled building
At the Washington monument
Pushing it hard!
Tom's place
Standing tall
But this statue is not taller than the one atop the Capitol building
A wistful stare
Playing
The license plate has seen better days!
On the bridge over the tidal pond
Over by the pentagon,
MLK!
30 feet tall but not technically a statue?
Slippery granite
One last look at TJ's place
Now we are at Abe's house
The reflecting pool has been drained for maintenance
There will be no sliding dorn the bright white area to the left
If Lincoln stood up he would be 28 feet tall
Very moving
Nice beard too
The national guard was everywhere!
MLK stood on this exact spot to deliver his "I have a dream" speach
The elbw marks the spot
A hairless cat on vacation
A bridal party
Mercury is ready to zoom off
A huge flood control susyem
A flaming sword for the WW1 dead
Burned pillars from the 1812 British invasion of DC
