25-26 September 2022 Port Elizabeth: A Little Jet Lag and a Little Rainy Weather

Above is the Hadeda Ibis which is a rather large bird.  They are quite noisy and bigger than a chicken. These birds are substantial and we saw this one on out walk to the Boardwalk Mall.  We took it easy and slept in on the 25th.  We were still a bit jet lagged so we needed to recuperate.  It was a rough and windy day so we did not venture out far from the AirBnB.  Super lucky for us, there are four restaurants within a 1 minute walk.  We chose to eat at La Kouzina, a Greek place.  We had super tasty appetizers, drinks and entrees for less than $50.  What a deal!  Since we were basically home bound by  the high winds and chilly temperatures, I got out the Chromecast and hooked it up to the TV.  It is never a simple process to set up this piece of tech.  First I needed to plug it in, register it within google home and once I was ready to cast a show it would not cast.  it turns out that Amazon Prime, Netflix and Paramount are for US subscribers only!  So when I started to watch I got the messgae that this subscription service is for US residents only.  Grrrrrr,  I worked around this by adding a VPN to my anti-virus software.  A VPN is a virtual private network that masks my current location.  But that was not enough since the Chromecast still gave away our location. So I got out the HDMI cable and the USB adaptor.  With this in place we were able to watch Survivor as if it were a second display.  Tech problems solved!

The 26th revealed nicer weather.  So we were able to get our 10.000 steps in.  We walked to the Boardwalk Mall which has been open for only a few days and shopped for some food and some odds and ends.  For dinner we went to the Steak House just one building away.  We had yet another great dinner at a very reasonable price. Steaks, appetizers and drinks YUM!  We needed to get to sleep early to be able to meet our Safari Guide at 7:30 AM.

This place has it all, Greek food, pizza and sushi

We chose the Greek Food.  Lamb, calamari, Greek salads and more

A bit of the brew

The weather opened up a bit but was still threatening

The covered dining area was quite nice

At the store, this 8+ pound steak was out of our range, with respect to volume of meat.  But at $20 USD it was quite the bargain.

The daily steak special.  A sirloin filet with cheese and cranberry on top

Unfortunately there is no actual Monkey Glands in the Monkey Gland Sauce!  Where is the truth in advertising?

It has been 113 and 114 days since we began our Migration
