17 October 2024 Doha: A Long Day of Travel

We were in our transfer and driving to the airport by 10 AM.  The Qatar Air counter was open at 11 and they even had a little lounge area for us to sit in while waiting our turn to check in.  The immigration happened at the ticket counter so all we needed was to go through security and get to the lounge.  Our bags all made it through the screening without any "extra screening" for the first time in quite a while.  When we got to the lounge we were the only ones there besides the workers.  It was very nice and they even had sit down food service.  Bravo to Qatar Airlines.  We boarded first and had a separate jetway to the second floor of the A380 jet.  We were given goodies: a travel bag and new jammies.  Then it was the dinner service, a few hours in the bar area and a few movies.  While in the bar we swapped travel stories with Ray and Theresa.  They were from the UK and were headed to Angkor Wat.  A great flight and we landed at midnight.  It took a while to get through immigration and get our bags but our driver was there and he took us to the hotel straight away.
