Burton on the Water lies along the River Windrush. This river was a source of great entertainment for us. First it was pretty and had nice walking paths all along the edge. Second Billy the Blue Eyed Border Collie got into the water looking for his ball. He kept walking backwards, downstream looking and looking and looking. A crowd gathered watching, pointing and laughing. We spoke with his owners and got the inside story. Eventually, a passerby took off his shoes and retrieved the ball for Billy. Thirdly a pair of young boys had plastic ships that they put into the water and then chased the ships down stream. They were having a blast. We stopped into a little place for lunch. Leslie got a BLT and I got the dirty fries with beef chili. Yum. We popped into and out of the shops where we found our standard purchases. Tea towels, book marks, a cool pendant and two bracelets all found themselves into the sheep themed shopping bag that we bought. We kept going and found ourselves at the bus stop. Time to head back.
