We booked the entire flight to Paris on points: Brisbane to Perth then Perth to Kuala Lumpur then to Doha and finally to Paris. It was supposed to be Business Class but the leg from Perth to KL was Economy Class! This was going to be a hard 6.5 hours. The baggage requirement was also weird, only 40 kg total each. We called and added some extra weight but even then is was hard to get it all pared down. We got to the airport very early and the counter was not yet open. So we stood in the line for almost an hour before anyone showed up. The line was only for business class and after Leslie told the lady our story she tagged our bags as priority, did not quibble about any over weight bags. She then checked the bags all the way to Doha. We were group three and managed to get on the plane while there was still room in the overheads. We got even luckier as the seat between us was left open. There were major problems with access to the bathroom as the cart blocked everyone from getting to the bathrooms or getting back to their seats. There was no in flight entertainment, the seats were very tiny, a tiny barefoot lady was in the seat in front of me. This lady was burping, trying to clear her throat by yelling, stepped on my feet several times and even leaned against me.....it was a very long flight. That the bags had been booked through to Doha, saved us time and effort not having to get our bags in Kuala Lumpur. Our hotel room was just a short golf cart ride away. It was located in the terminal and the cart was clean and had probably never been driven outside.
