We headed up to Castle Hill or Colline du Chateau as they call it in French. Rather than take the stairs or the road we chose to take the elevator. We stood in line for 10 minutes but we still got up there quicker than we would have had we walked. The view was spectacular and the weather again was perfection. We walked the trails and viewed the artificial waterfall. While we were searching out a snack we saw the tiny tourist train. The driver said he had a full train but we could wait a few minutes and if there were people that did not make it to the train at the departure time, he would fit us in. True to his word we got on the train even though we did not sit next to each other. It was another fun way to see the city and learn some more facts about the Bay of Angles and Nice.
Two ships passing int he morning
The ultimate trail running race is coming to town
Woof!
We are headed up there
We are taking the elevator. They used the Devil's well to make the elevator shaft.
We had a ling line to wait for the two cars to take 10 people in each car
It looked like we would fit eight in and then the attendant put in three more, garlic eaters for sure, ooof!
I wonder what the name of this large rock face might be?
Mosaic tioles
A sundial
Wat a great view
The airport
A plane has just landed
What might be in here?
Just a passageway
Under the waterfall the runoff collects here
The clocktower and the dome of the church can be seen at the base of the picture
It is not a natural waterfall
But we liked it none the less
Sea gulls on the top
Cool tree
We see the tiny train!
Sir Elton John's place. We were snubbed again
The train was sold out but we managed to get four seats
From the tiny train
More mosaics
Hoot owl
Downhill ride!
How did we pass a car on this little trail
A four masted sailing ship
We are back down at ground level.
The stairs and the elevator
This is the title of an art installation
Dave back left, Kris on the right
We are back to the place
