3 September 2025 Perth: Our Last Walkabout in Australia

We packed up and did our cleaning on this, our last full day of the AirBnB.  As we were here for just a week, it was pretty straight forward so we had some time to take a last walk along the Swan River.  The river was choppy and a stiff wind was blowing up river trying to dislodge my hat.  Even thought the sun was bright and high in the sky the wind had a bit of a chill.  We had to turn around at the bend in the river where the wind was unchecked as it was full blast.  On the way back, I saw a new bird, the musk duck, that I had been looking for the entire time we were in Perth.  A nice going away gift.

The river is very choppy with a white cap here and there

The big stadium in the distance

No skiers out today

Another stylish pedestrian bridge

Reading to the little one

The book is titled "The Swan River Saga"

A very unique sculpture.  It reminds me of a drill bit for a well digging rig

A black swan made from bronze

A swashbuckling early explorer ready to face off with the swan

More shelduck babies

Swimming low in the water

It is the elusive musk duck
