On the map application it seems like a very short stroll down to the Martin Luther King jr. Memorial. On the way we passed the Korean War Memorial. Then from The Martin Luther King memorial we could see the DC War Memorial where we stopped and took stock. Turns out we were almost to the end of the reflecting pool. So we had actually walked more than we had anticipated. The Korean memorial was very personal, as the sculptures of the soldiers were the size of men and they were at eye level. This made me feel as if I could be amongst them walking through some field in Korea. The Martin Luther King jr. Memorial is fairly new and you could tell from the finish of the sculpture. It is bright white newly sculpted stone. Cooper found an area to slide up and down on the smooth rock and he enjoyed this for quite some time. It was then just a short stroll over to the DC war memorial. The DC war memorial was put up to commemorate World War I and all the individuals from DC that died during that war.
