After Cooper got a bunch of FBI gear at the Newseum we walked a couple of blocks had lunch and then a couple more blocks and we were at the J Edgar Hoover building. The general public cannot go in and take the tour. Leslie pulled some strings and so we were supposed to be on the list. Imagine her surprise when we get to the front security area and we are not on the list. We made a couple calls, got a couple names and next thing you know we are in! We started out in the gift shop as they get the tour guides prepared to lead the tour. Then they lead you through the courtyard where FBI guys are exercising and into the FBI experience. It was created with the Smithsonian to make a family-friendly environment for everyone to be able to understand who the FBI is and what they do. There were two main tour guides, an older gentleman and a older woman that were both delightful. Occasionally we were able to get them by themselves and really have a personal experience through the exhibits. The older lady was actually the agent who connected Tim Mcveigh's fingerprints to the Oklahoma City bomb debris. The older gentleman had to tell us several times that he was not there in 1908 when the FBI was created. Cooper really enjoyed his experience, and was able to get a lot of information and positive feedback from all the people there.

Perhaps some of the most inappropriate tourist behavior I've seen in a long time. She must have been out there for ten minutes doing all her different pictures in front of the FBI building
She's Not So Glamorous with two flat tires on her shoes!
Not an actual agent he is just a picture on the wall
This is a demonstration of how many shots from the different guns and agent will shoot before he gets certified
A tie with a secret camera in it used by Cubans to spy on Cuban expatriates in Miami
An audio bug that can record conversations in a room but it looks like an power pack
