A stroll down to a tasty lunch at Sequoia

From Georgetown we checked the GPS and decided we could go ahead and walk all the way down to the Sequoia for lunch. The houses along the way we're just amazing. The brickwork, the windows and all the land scaping was fabulous.  We walked out to the boat house and saw all the rowboats out there. Then as we were walking back to the restaurant for lunch we saw a man jogging. He had to tell Cooper about his suit that he had as a child which is the same as the suit Cooper was wearing. He was out in the woods and fell into the creek wearing his suit and he thought he might get into big trouble but his mom just looked at him and said we'll throw it all in the sink.  He was pretty funny and he talked to Cooper about the FBI, he said perhaps Cooper would be his boss someday.  Then we stopped into the Swedish Embassy where they had very interesting displays on how Sweden is planning to cope with the future.

Georgetown University

Cooper has decided that he has an interest in Georgetown University. So first thing this morning we went over there before any of the students had woken up and took a self guided tour of the campus. We had to go to Cooper field where they had lacrosse net set up in the corner. We went to what we thought was the Student Union but it was something different. We got better advice and then found the gift shop over on the other side of Campus. It was a very nice walk on a lovely campus.  The trees were in bloom the flower beds were bursting with flowers and by the time we left the campus had woken up and was filling up.

When we came to DC with Lily we stayed in the same neighborhood. The other house was not nearly as nice as this one. We walked down to the Whole Foods Market and bought food for breakfast and for dinner.  We walked back and settled in nicely.

In the meantime a quick tour to DC for another 11s trip

Cooper Patrick McLane is now 11. This means that he gets to go to Washington DC with Leslie and I and visit all the places that he wants to go see. Since he lives in the Orlando area we packed up the car with pickles and Vera Jean and drove up to Orlando this morning. We got to the airport around noon and we took Cooper into the airport left Vera and pickles with Erin.  We had a quick bite to eat made it through  TSA PreCheck security  and  eventually made it to our seats in first class.  The flight attendant let Cooper go up into the cockpit and see the pilots. They gave him American Airlines Wings to remember his visit by. He spent a lot of time looking out the window at the World As We flew over it. We landed in the middle of rush-hour but eventually got to our very nice Air B&B

We have arrived in Washington DC!

And famous DC traffic is allowing us to slowly see all the sights scroll by our car windows
