A Pride and Pot Festival

Any Pride Festival out there is one that we will visit.  Add legal weed to the mix and we are there again.  There were several tents with information about various products and devices.  The temp was hitting the upper 90's and we wandered the grounds.  Several dogs were in attendance and we hoped that the heat was not too much for them.  We loved the funky band and visited a dispensary at the end of the block.  They had a display about the inequity of drug law enforcement.  I got a topical cream for pain.

There is always time for a bite of pizza and a meatball "sammy", extra sauce please!  The temp was rising quickly and we thought that a safety break could include food, cold water and spicy cocktails.  The food was tasty.  Our core temperatures dropped slightly and we were stoked for the next stop.

$500 million of art was stolen from this collection back in 1990.  If the 13 items that were stolen are worth this much, then the rest of the items in the mansion must be worth billions.  It was packed full by Isabella Gardner back at the turn of the century.  The arrangement of all the works have remained the same as she left it as per her wishes.  That is except for the pieces that were stolen, the empty frames that contained the paintings are still hanging.  All in all this is a very special place.  The central courtyard is packed with blooming plants: orchids, fuchsia, lilies, and much more.  The Art was very interesting and the ephemera even more so.  Isabella was very active in the Art scene and she corresponded with impressionists that were still alive at the time.  This correspondence was on display as well as autographs of other famous folks from that time period.

Katelyn and Dinner

My niece Katelyn had recently moved to Boston and we are her first official visitors.  We met for dinner at the Salti Girl Seafood restaurant.  The neighborhood where the restaurant is located is reminds me of Buckhead in Atlanta.  A funky mix of eateries, shops and higher end residential with ample area to walk and absolutely no parking.  I exaggerate a bit, there is parking on selected streets but those spots were all taken well before we arrived.  We managed to find a garage to park in and made it to the Salti Girl slightly late.  We were seated at an outside table that had a great breeze and a non stop procession of people to gawk at.  

No attempt to match color pallets but it happened
