We got up and headed to the emergency passport service first thing in the morning. The office was tiny, a mom and pop shop, staffed with family and folks that are now a family. What great fun we had meeting Tanya with her beautiful smile and broken toe. She took care of Leslie and all her passport needs. We talked about our travels and what we love to do. We walked right by a dispensary and then we headed over to Bryant Park for a sit down session. Here we get the first text from Laura who was due to take off for New York and join us for a show. Her flight had been canceled! They were due to take off at 10:30 and arrive by 1:30. The flight that United rescheduled them (#2) would not get to Newark till 6 PM, unfortunately that flight was also canceled. They booked a flight that connected through Charlotte that would also get then to NYC around the 6:15 time frame(#3). They made it to Charlotte and got on the next flight (#4) where everything seemed to be a go. Then the plane turned around and returned to the gate! Ground stop in LaGuardia. We had tickets to go to the Kit Kat Club's Cabaret show and it was a roller coaster ride of expectations. They will miss the show, they will be able to make it, nope they will miss it, wait they will be able to go after all....and so it went on all day long. We got dolled up and went to the show still not knowing if they were going to be able to make it. They had arraigned for the driver to drop them off at the show and take the luggage onto the hotel. Unfortunately none of that happened and they did not get to the Hotel till 10:30 PM without any luggage! We met them after the show and headed to Times Square around midnight when all the screens synchronized and played the same video clip. No luggage back at the hotel. Leslie got into her stuff and handed out night clothes to everyone
