1-2 November 2022 Brisbane Australia: It wasn't Easy Getting Here So We Are Not Leaving Anytime Soon

We did not arrive at our Brisbane AirBnB until 1 AM on the 2nd of November.  We were so grateful that the host arranged for a friend of his to meet us at these extreme hour.  It was not our original plan.  The Jetstar flight that we purchased was a quick 2.5 hour flight directly from Uluru to Brisbane arriving at a sane hour of 3 PM.  However Jetstar had different plans for us.  We were already out on our adventure when they canceled the original flight.  The new flight sent us back to Melbourne, 3.5 hours and then a four hour layover the fly to Brisbane 2.25 hour flight.  Due to the limited flights in Australia, post covid, we had to suck it up and accept the change.  Our 11:20 AM shuttle was late and did not arrive to 11:50.  We stood in various lines to check in and go through security and took off at 1:25 PM.  We landed in Melbourne at 6:20 PM after loosing time to the time zones.  Jetstar's seats did not get any better on this flight and I was already sore from the helicopter squeeze the previous evening.  To make matters worse, upon arrival in Melbourne we had to get our previously checked bags from the turnstile, wait a half hour to get the tags to put on the bags at the self check in kiosk.  We had to wait an additional 45 minutes before we could put those bags onto the belt and send then on their way.  Then it was back through the security line as the time was approaching 8 PM.  Unfortunately 90% of the restaurants closed at 7 PM.  We were just able to get a seat at Two Johns Bar and order some dinner.  We ate as they were putting the chairs on the top of the tables.  That was a close one!  We still had plenty of time to waste as our flight was now delayed by an hour.  We did not take off until 10:30 PM for a two hour flight.  At this point we were drained and exhausted but we still had to get to our AirBnB.  Thanks to Uber this was the easiest part of the marathon trip.  FYI, Jetstar is not service oriented and is to be avoided at all costs.  It was a welcome sight when we got to our 21st floor apartment in the sky.  We slept like the dead and did not get up till 11 AM.  Then we took two trips to the store for groceries, one trip to the liquor store for gin, tonic, wine and beer, and two trips for sushi.  On one of the trips we walked to the Botanical Gardens and saw lizards,  Brush-Turkeys, Ibises in the palms feeding their young.  We love Brisbane already, all the hassle it took to get here was worth it.
