The ever-present need to renew our prescriptions led us to Kuala Lumpur. Actually we could have gotten the prescriptions in George Town by we both needed to be seen by a Dermatologist. Our fair haired light skinned good looks come at a cost. So we made appointments for February 6th unaware of the impending Chinese New Year. We could have taken a train to KL but the return train was fully booked due to the holiday. So instead of taking a taxi to the ferry terminal, ferry to the train station, train to KL and the taxi to the hotel, we took a van from door to door. Easy is usually better. We got to the hotel around 2 PM and got settled in. We got some snacks at the club lounge and then looked at the pool. Heading back up to change into our suits, Leslie put her foot up. I laid down on the bed and I promptly fell asleep. By the time I woke up it was time to get dinner back in the club. 7 AM was going to come quickly so we headed back to the room and watched the Sunday Morning show for our nightcap.
Heading out of George Town along Millionaires Row
It was named Millionaires back when that was enough money to build a huge mansion
More big temples om the way
This is the second bridge over tot eh mainland
It is further south than the Butterworth bridge, it is 10.5 miles over the water and is the longest bridge in Malaysia
The scenery was beautiful
Lots of mountains
On both sides of the road
We climbed to a high pass
Then through a tunnel
Along a river valley
Lots of limestone bluffs
The ride was easy
Pretty and smooth
Small towns along the way
Proton City!
Then suddenly a big big city, Kuala Lumpur
Tall buildings
Fancy flower themed streetlights
Even taller buildings
Mosques
With elaborate architecture
Street Art
The Westin
Looking out our window at the 31st floor
We are in the fancy district. Rolex, Ferragamo, Fendi, Celine, Tiffany, Burberry and more
