The weather forecast was looking good so we decided to head out for a picnic. Going to the Botanical Gardens or going to Manley by the sea both required long train or bus rides. Even though each location was relatively close, less than 20 km, there were no direct routes. So instead we took the ferry upriver to Guyatt Park. This park is almost to the end of the ferry system and the ride was delightful. The antics of the little kids and their minders kept us entertained and the day was as delightful as the forecast had promised. Once we got to the bark, we found a picnic platform overlooking the river with a picnic table for our use. An Australian water dragon and several birds joined us for lunch. The dragon was very territorial and chased off the birds multiple times. Then we strolled through the park and the adjacent neighborhood. We took the ferry back to New Farm Park dock and stopped off at the library to pick up some travel related copies.
