We dressed up and headed out for some excitement. Lots of folks were dressed up as they got on the bus. After all it was a big Saturday night. First it was Death and Taxes an very fun bar in Brisbane. As we were settling into our chairs at the bar, a drink came flowing over the bar and on to Leslie. The Bartender had spilled something red and sticky. It took a while to get all that cleaned off and cleaned up. She was offered a beer "on the house" but that was not what we were here for. Tess, a young woman sitting next to us, was able to save her bag which was hanging from the under bar hook. Leslie got to talking to Tess and found out she was a worker at the bar but had not yet started her shift. We ordered the gin that she recommended, it was made with the whey from sheep's milk in Tasmania for Leslie's martini. I got a gimlet made with Old Young's Six Seasons. We watched the activity outside the bar and there was some sort of photoshoot. We then moved next door to the new restaurant, Hideki. We had read about it in the Brisbane Style magazine and it was certainly stylish. We liked the meal and had a chance to talk to the owners at the end and offer up some comments to them.
