A new day new landscapes

We jumped in the car and started driving. We picked up Maxine Charlie and Vera, and then went out to a whole new landscape. The flatlands are lava fields and the rivers that come through make sinuous deltas. We saw one river that was half grey from glacial silt and half crystal clear from snow melt.  They did not mix and right down the middle was the dividing line. We came upon some twisted steel and it was the remnants of a bridge that got washed out from a flood. The flood was caused by a volcanic eruption underneath the glacier that sent a torrent of water ice and mud down stream.
