31 January 2023 Greymouth: A Hike along the Coast Tasman Sea

We took a three mile walk along the beach and through the graveyard.  It was partly cloudy.  When the sun was out it was hot and when it was not there was a hint of chill in the air.  We stopped and spoke with a man that had two small chihuahua sized dogs with long tails.   The dogs were suspicious of us but we had a fine talk,  Two large dogs interrupted us and eventually they were so bothersome that the gent had to walk off to avoid the beasts.  So we continued on ourselves.  We cooked dinner as the rain started up again.  We were happy to be home and dry over here in the Wet side of New Zealand.

What what a putt putt?

This is the perimeter fence of the local airport

Surf is up!

The rocks were cobble stone sized

Concrete blocks for a headstone

It is not spelled like my Mother's married name but it is close.  She was Dorothea Olson.

The older the headstone the larger it seemed to be

Starlings

A nautical headstone

From 1894 this triple headstone is huge

1894 as reported above
