This was advertised as a flower and garden show. The garden part was was a large part of the show. There were vendors selling chicken coops, self contained planting systems, fertilizers, mulchers, seeds, seedlings, water lily plants, farm tools, gardening hats and gloves, metal signs and water collection systems. There were educational booths with information on invasive species, frog ecology, bees and birds too. Another building housed food products, hot sauces, honeys, craft gins and other spirits. Artistic vendors were selling giant wooden fruits, pears and apples, large rusted iron sculptures of horses, owls and other creatures. Lastly, but not in any way least, was the chicken competition. Roosters and hens on dozens of varieties were in cages and available for all to see. We think we figured out which chicken won what place as the winners had a number 1, 2 or 3 chalk marked on their cage. Non-winning chickens had no chalked in numbers. When we were done we took the free shuttle to the Nambour train station where we boarded the bus back to Maroochydore.
