16 July 2025 Port Moresby: Adventure Land a Bird Sanctuary and an Endemic Animals Zoo

We finished up at the PAO ponds and went to a western style supermarket that also had a cafeteria. Lunch with the driver, Kelly, and local bird guide, Jackson, with us all together was fun.  Normally guests and staff are separated during meal times.  It was a quick lunch and close to the Adventure Park.  The Adventure Park had a bird sanctuary that showcased native PNG birds and there was also a mini-zoo that had native animals.  We spent time with the native birds and were lucky enough to see some of them displaying.  Oh my, this was a treat not usually seen by amateurs in the wild.  Then we visited the orchids, a separate post, and then the native animals.  These were tree kangaroos, a cassowary and some other birds.  These birds are captive so they do not count towards my bird list, but to see them all in one place was truly a treat.
