Finland is a Fine Land

We had a three and a half hour flight which was fairly uneventful.  There were some clouds here and there we could see some land but mostly it was a comfortable ride. We found it odd that when we left Iceland there was no passport control and even odder still that when we landed in Finland there was still no passport control. We felt that sthis was so strange that we actually found the passport line. We were quick to get in line and the guy told us since we were not leaving we didn't need to go through the passport control. We were able to find our Helsinki cards and find the train which took his right into downtown. We jumped in a cab and ran over to get the keys. The cabbie waited for us and then took us to our apartment. That was another interesting moment for us. We were unable to find the front door but the taxi driver stopped and helped us out, she was a very nice woman. We got out, walked towards the water and found a very nice Old Market and  Finlandia Caviar. We had reservations for two at 4 but it was closer to 5 when we got there. No problem there were only two people in the shop at the time and it was a lovely dining experience  I tried the six different types of fish roe as a sampler. Leslie had three and then we had a two pieces of sturgeon caviar.  The caviar was so good we ordered two more pieces. I tried the vendace, calperin, whitefish, lumpfish, salmon and cold smoked trout roe.  Our server was Toivo and he was delightful. He had a deep understanding of the products as well as a great ability to connect on a personal basis.

This is a picture of Leslie's three selections and the two pieces of caviar that we split. Google is onto my eating habits and the pictures I take of my food disappear
