A rookery along the river walk

Along the Riverwalk are a variety of restaurants and shops and such. However we were really surprised  to find a group of trees that housed a couple dozen nesting birds. The adults were white with very frilly feathers on their chest and the head. The juveniles were very mottled in browns and blacks. The distinctive orange eye set them apart. I have spent about 10 minutes now trying to find out exactly what bird it is but there are 1600 different species of birds in Ecuador and I have not been able to identify them exactly at this point. Stay tuned...I'm back.  They are indeed two different types of birds.  The white bird is a snowy egret and the brown bird is a
Yello crowned night heron!

White feathers, black beaks, yellow eyes

The eye colors of the mature and the juvenile are different which makes me wonder if these are actually the same Birds

A very tight fit in the nest for such large birds

But where else are you going to go on a Sunday morning?

So many birds nests mean every day bird poop clean up

Orange eyes and yellow legs seems particular enough that I could figure out exactly what bird this is
