After a good deal of confusion on my part we have determined a few things. Firstly this morning the rafts of vegetation were moving from right to left as seen from our window. Yet when we looked at the maps they would seem to be flowing up river. Midday the vegetation stopped. Hmmmm. After another walk we discovered that the flow is now left to right, it means the river is tidal. At low tide the river flows out and high tide reverses the flow. We had a mosh at the Lounge Cafe, saw an engagement celebration and I looked back up at the hotel and took a picture of Leslie in the window.
