We got up early and I went down to breakfast while Leslie showered. I came back up and we took all of our gear down and took the shuttle over to the airport. On the shuttle with us was a half dozen good old boys. We sat back and listened to their stories of the Philippines and Cairo and Grenada. The airport went very smoothly. We had to buy a Galapagos pass for $20 each and then get our luggage screened for vegetable and animal matter. It was very fast and then we were in the lounge ready to board. The plane we got on was a continuation of another flight so we just sat down and took off. We landed in beltra and were whisked to the VIP room. Christian took our passports and our Galapagos pass and arranged everything for us. We paid the national park fee and our hand luggage got screened for vegetable and animal matter. From the airport we were took a car to a boat. The boat only had to ferry us 1000 feet to the Island of Santa Cruz. Then we took a pickup to the Pikaia Lodge. On the way we saw a Tortoise on the side of the road, some serious road construction and a few villages.
