Good morning Guayaquil

We took our time getting up this morning. We sauntered down to have some breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  It turns out that the Rio Grande has the highest rating in the entire city, and it's right downstairs! The breakfast was fun the people watching was even more fun. We had tea and some fabulous roasted pork and a variety of breads fruits and juices. I asked for hot sauce and they had their own special blend in a shot glass that came out of the fridge. I felt felt very special. We then walked along the river and came across a wide variety of birds. There was a rookery where several dozen nests were up in the trees. I got some good pictures of the baby birds. We've been walked along a different route back to the hotel and saw the shantytowns up on the hill. It reminded me of Valparaiso in Chile. There is income inequality everywhere!
