7 December 2022 Brisbane: Lunch at the Black Bird and a Trip to the Enchanted Gardens

This was a day to put on the fancy clothes and have a nice lunch.  The restaurant was Black Bird and it was right on the river (https://www.blackbirdbrisbane.com.au/).  The menu had steaks, lamb, pork and seafood.  We opted for a Spanner Crab starter and the seafood platter for the main.  The platter came  in two sizes; 1-2 persons and 3-4 persons.  Just by looking in my eyes, the waitress knew that we needed to get the 3-4 persons size.  She was not wrong as it was none too big.  Our anticipation was build up as we waited a good 45 minutes for the platter to arrive only to see half a dozen oysters on it.  There was no mention of oysters on the menu.  After a conference with the manager we were offered extra items.  We picked the prawns but maybe we should have picked more scallops.  Either way the seafood was very tasty.   Both the server and the manager were shocked that the oysters were not listed in the description of the platter. We beat the heat and stayed inside today.  After dinner when the sun went down we were off to the Enchanted Gardens in Roma Park.  We took an Uber there as we were not 100% sure how to navigate that area.  That got us there a bit early so we walked around a bit and bought some soft serve ice cream for a treat.  The gardens are very large and they have installed lights, projectors and smoke machines to make it Enchanted.  It all added up to a fantastic experience.

Top were the prawns below them were tuna and kingfish tartar and below that was the Hervey Bay Scallops (raw).  At 10:00 were the Morton Bay Bugs, a type of lobster and of course the oysters which we did not eat.

The full moon added a nice touch
