25 December 2011 Brisbane: Its Christmas and Time for a Picnic!

There was a bit of heavy rain this morning.  It made our plans of a picnic look bleak.  But in a Hallmark Lifetime Movie moment it stopped raining and the sun came out.  So we packed our Christmas picnic lunch of chicken, cole slaw, chips and lammingtons.  We also brought some gin and tonic makings.  We have become a pair of health nuts, always trying to avoid scurvy and malaria with our lime and our tonic intake.  We made sure to bring small tea cups to drink the GnT's out of so that we appeared to be having a cup of tea.  We started with a nip and some chips.  Then it was chicken and cole slaw with a side of people watching.  We saw dogs, couples, scooter riders, fellow picnickers and boaters. It was great fun and the weather cooperated.  Low key for sure but it is what we wanted to do.

We brought our seats to make it easier to sit on the hard bench.

A new gin from Scotland.  Not so great but we successfully avoided scurvy and malaria so all is good
