We had to use the stairs at our third floor AirBnB for two weeks while the elevator was getting re-furbished. As compensation the owner gave us a $300 AUD voucher at a local restaurant, the Boat Shed. We are leaving in just a few days and have already planned out how to eat everything that is in the fridge and freezer. So this meal was a one time thing, gong back and using up the remaining amount was not in the plan. So we looked up the menu, got out some paper and a pen and saw if we could indeed spend $300 in one sitting. Fast forward to the end of dinner and where we are stuffed, satisfied, slightly tipsy and amazed that we had spent $284. We left the $16 as a tip for our waitress even though Australia does not have a tipping culture.
She said the Boat Shed down by the sea shore
The Maroochy River meets the sea just beyond this sign
A group of 20 folks came by paddling with their arms and kicking their feet in the air
It seemed to be a youth group with a few chaperones
One way to put a dent into the voucher is getting a $50 bottle of wine
A few filthy martinis helped make more of a dent
Cheers to my birthday and a refurbished elevator
Nice pre-sunset light
The mountains off in the distance
Coconut and chili prawns
Hervey Bay scallops starter
The baked banana with brandy rum syrup
Char grilled eye fillet with broccolini
Pan Fried Humpty-Doo Barramundi
The eye steak was perfect
The sunset just kept on getting better
And the sliver of the moon kept getting more and more orange
Great view for dinner
Just like that it is dark
A sliver of a moon
Chicken feathers for dessert
A big brownie
