We stayed in New Farm, a Brisbane suburb, last year for two months. Our neighbors were Adrian and Lisa and we got to know them pretty well. They even invited us over for dinner and we really enjoyed their company. They were the icing on a delightful New Farm cake. So this time we decided to head down to Brisbane and take them out to dinner. Leslie chose the Sky Deck as our meeting place. It is an open air bar that is located on the top of the Star Casino building. This is a sleek new development in the heart of Brisbane and it over looks the river. It was a blustery day so we moved our seats a few times to avoid the wind and potential rain. We had a few drinks and then moved downstairs to the Dark Shepherd restaurant where we were going to have dinner. It is a Mediterranean / Greek themed place and we ordered the mid range fixed menu. We were treated with scallops, calamari, roasted red peppers, roasted potatoes, pillow bread with a fish roe dip and lastly a large hunk of fall off the bone roasted lamb. Dinner was fantastic and we talked the whole time. The conversations continued in the downstairs bar where we had a nightcap.

I was talking with Lisa about the availability of whiskey i the Brisbane Duty Free Shop. That got me to thinking about a shot. I picked this whiskey at random and when the bartender looked it up she warned us that the price was $180 per shot! A different whiskey was then chosen
