16 August 2025 Maroochydore: A Drive to the Noosa Botanical Gardens

We had this botanical garden on our list from the beginning but once again the 2 hour bus ride would have been brutal whereas the 45 minute drive in the car was relatively easy.  We parked and left the picnic in the car until we had a lay of the land.  The longest trail in the park was just over a mile so it was nice and compact.  We wandered about and got a bit lost.  The map made the blue trail seem like it was going to go around the lake but it turns out that the lake is huge.  That was our misconception.
the trail took us back the car and we retrieved the picnic and searched for a table to eat at. We found a bench and that worked out fine.  So many birds were calling while we ate our lunch that we had to laugh out loud a couple times at the cacophony of calls.  We took pictures next to the sculpture and then continued to explore.  There was a group of nicely dressed folks filtering in and we saw that the amphitheater was set up for a wedding.  A great day for a wedding.

This was our fourth earthquake that we have experienced together

A nice country road

Mountains in the distance

The trees on the ridge look like a bridge

A black faced cuckoo shrike

We think that these may be bat houses

The bats could drawl up the mesh and stay snug in the tube

These trees were wrapped in bromeliads

The bromeliads look like Christmas trees

This may be the problem
