We chose an electric boat for our sight seeing river excursion. The pace was slower, there were no fumes and as luck would have it we had the entire boat to ourselves! On the way to the boat we saw folks dressed as barbarians. We also saw a boat that was either scooping up trash or trimming the banks of the river. The trash removal was definitely needed. The section of river we traveled was actually part of the canal system with locks on each end. We saw several different typed of watercraft, racing kayaks, sprinting canoes, recreational kayaks and paddle boards. Two prestigious boathouses are situated along the banks and these boathouses have produces Olympic champions. There is a museum dedicated to the circumnavigation of the globe by Magellan and a replica ship. One of the nicest items was an art deco bridge that is a replica of one formerly in Paris.
