The Setas was built in 2011 on top of a the site of the old Seville market. This market was the largest in the town prior to 1978. This is when the building containing the market was condemned and torn down. The empty lot was an eyesore and so the town decided to put something there to spruce up the area. The went ahead and built the largest wooden structure in the world. Made from laminated Norwegian pine it is a whopping 85 feet tall. Covering an area of 500 ft by 230 feet which is over 2 acers in area. This massive structure had a walkway on the top that offered great views of the city. Two large concrete pillars support the entire structure and the elevator was located in the center of one of the pillar. Ironically the elevator only goes up so folks had to walk down to get to ground level. The locals call it "the mushrooms" but it was actually modeled after Ficus trees. We really enjoyed this excursion. After leaving the Setas we wanted to go to a few bars that we had researched. Unfortunately the research was not enough to uncover that both bard close at 5:30 and don't open again until 9 PM. It is a hard lesson learned but to our credit what bar closes during happy hour?

Around each corner there might be a surprise!
Did not purchase these glasses as the tag was too unsightly
