5 March 2023 Puerto Banus: A Roman Villa

We have been working hard on planning.  We booked places to stay in Istanbul, Amman Jordan, Petra, Tel Aviv, Cairo and Alexandria.  We also booked flights to Cyprus, Jordan, Israel and Egypt.  We have sent out requests for quotes on car transfers and the travel for next December is shaping up nicely.  It has been a bit cloudy so staying home and working was not a big impact.  We needed some stay at home days after the go go go of New Zealand.  So after making trip progress we decided to wander about Puerto Banus some more.  We took the streets back from the beach and just wandered aimlessly.  This gave us a chance to see some houses way above our pay grade.  Very big and quite fancy.  We walked all about for a total of 2.5 miles.  We got to peek at the ruins of a Roman Villa.  The mosaics are the only thing left for the most part but they are very worthy.  We got a better understanding of how this town is laid out and also a chance to stretch out.

A cool stump carving on the AirBnB property

We took some other roads

To an apartmento complex where they have an interesting way to deal with the parking issue

Eventually reaching a dead end

Walls of flowers were passed on the way

Shining with the sunlight

The ruins of a Roman Vila from the 2nd century AD

Being over 2000 years old, it is a wonder that anything survived

But the floors did quite well

A bit of a run off issue, mud on the face

But the mosaics are still in great shape

It is a large complex

With some residual walls still standing

This park was not much

But the houses got bigger

Most fancy too!

Old tower off in the distance

We did not see Tom Hanks dancing on a giant set of piano keys as the signage would suggest

A vary fancy neighborhood

Back to the beach walkway for us

Big yacht heading out

A sad excuse for a scare crow!

Our wanderings...

It has been 273 days since we began our Migration
