Our AirBnB is a historical gem of a place. I is located within the group of buildings surrounding Madrid's biggest Plaza. The square is bordered by tall brick buildings five stories tall. The buildings are old as in old world old. Our balcony is a very small strip up on the roof line, the railing can be seen on the above picture. We were driving into Madrid using the maps on our phone. There must have need random delays in the display and the directions which made it hard to follow. It was as if the phone was telling us to take a left 15 meters behind us. Somehow we got to the Plaza Mayor and I saw a parking garage. I pulled in and parked and we met our AirBnB host right upstairs. Getting the luggage to the 5th floor was another thing altogether. The elevator was a two person affair and all our luggage put the hurt on it. The next day there was elevator repair and we had to take the 112 stairs. The apartment is a history book of styles, beams, cracks, sags, railings and extra doors. We brought up all the luggage and got settled in. We ate some dinner, but since we were having house guests in the afternoon we ventured out for supplies. We were able to get sausages , bread, fruit, sweets, anchovies, olives and a few more tidbits to entertain with.
We have arrived amid the bustle of Plaza life
The sun is going down and the light on this weather vane id golden

The Plaza!
These tables are in the light and folks were soaking up the sun
Much lingering at the tables until the sun goes down
The last two flights of stairs were human powered.
Our front door
Eclectic style
Old and creaky stairs and a wobbly railing
The walk to nowhere
Out to the balcony
The view out
Exposed beams
A bedroom worth of a centuries old building
A fine stain glass window
The elevator stops short
Long wat down
An odd mix of gents out on the town
The market we found was packed with people that were just going from stall to stall
Drinking wine in the market
Eating churros
It was a large hall and we will be back here
It has been 292 days since we began our Migration
