4 November 2023 Vouliagmeni: An Exploratory Hike

Today we walked 2.5 miles around the town of Vouliagmeni to get the lay of the land.  We walked to the south to the Vouliagmeni Lake then along the shore of Vouliagmeni Bay.  The wind was whipping up some big waves so the kite surfers and foil riders were out in force.  We also saw people swimming even though it was very rough.  We continued along the shore but did not want to pay 10 euro to get into the big park.  So we kept on walking, stopped to buy some fruit and then headed back to the AirBnB for lunch and travel planning.  We have been putting off some much needed work on some of the trip now that we have prudently decided to skip Israel.  Luckily we were able to sort that all out and then we will be working on Japan next.

This street is so steep that the surface had to be roughed  up to give cars traction

We passed many large and beautiful houses

A very cool lake

Formed by a cave system collapse

Still fed by the sea through underground channels

We will be back to explore

Open water

These are supposed to be placid swimming areas

No longer so sheltered

White water

Man on right is determined, man on left thinks better of it

In he goes

A bit foolish if you ask me, he can not be seen out there, he is just a dot

Closer to shore the water sports are popular

Greece is the word

A running statue

Just like my stomach after eating a hot dog

Flipping and flopping and a wild ride

Our path today.  i find it odd that there is a waffle house smack dab in the middle

Great big sun

From the balcony

Still many surfers out

Going down behind the mountains

Time to cook dinner

Until the morning when it will rise again

It has been 1 year and 152 days since we began our Migration
