Naoshima Island is a small island with only 3,000 people living there. They have decided to go all in on the art theme. There are several museums and lots of outdoor exhibits. We jumped on the #2 bus and got the last two seats. No matter, they still fit another 15 more people in, standing in the isle. That bus took us to the free shuttle which took us to the Benesee Museum. It was a great museum of contemporary art and afterwards we stayed for a some lunch. Then we walked back along the coast to the bus stop for the return trip.
It was an hour ferry ride but only about 10 miles away.

An exert from article 9 of the Japanese Constitution is written on the red and white cloth. Japan renounces "war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. In order to accomplish this aim, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized."
The cloth came out of this box with "Little Boy" written on it. Little Boy is the name of one of the atomic bombs dropped on Japan
The red color on the cloth makes a mushroom cloud shape
