Up on the top of a hill in a park in Hiroshima the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) stands in a very modern building. It was raining a bit but not too hard as we entered the building. Two of the four galleries were closed. We were able to see the sculptures that were outside the building as well as a gallery inside. Afterwards we sat on a bench waiting for our Uber to show up. It was still raining so we just took it easy in the hotel for a "lazy" afternoon.
Looking down from up where the museum was
A crowded cemetery
Modern architecture
A big bronze
Very funky serpentine table and bench
Museums usually have the best restroom signs
Even the attachment hardware is creative
Welded steel
An flea market photo repurposed and brough back to life
The Peace Dome
Looking out at the sculptures
These old lighters are new "antiques" only 1000 yen
It is a stick! But a stick made from bronze
Beefy bird
Bird butt!
A hole in the Hiroshima sky
At first I thought these may be cobras
Then they looked like gaming chairs
Chairs with spikes inside them
It is still raining
The works continue down the hill
Suspended in the air
"Echo"is punched out of the steel slab
Stackers
Benches?
Roped off for our safety
Cocoons
Wet steps down to our pick up point
A lantern that survived the bombing
