After two weeks of almost daily Jazz Concerts we went to see Christina von Bulow at the DR Koncerthuset. We made it to 11 concerts and saw 13 different bands play during the actual Jazz Festival and even saw another jazz show at the Tivoli before the festival started. What great fun! The Koncerthuset was located across the main canal from us and we took the ferry across the water and walked the rest of the way. We crossed the big park at a point further north from where we had walked in the park previously. The band set up at the side of the shipping container that housed the "Klangbar" or Sound Bar. Cristina von Bulow is the daughter of Fritz von Bulow who was a noted Danish jazz musician and the guitar player was Pelle von Bulow, her son. He is the third generation of jazz musicians. She has won many awards and even took lessons from Stan Getz of "Girl from Ipanema" fame. The crowd grew steadily as the first set was completed. As they started the second set, more and more pedestrians streamed by. They were headed to the Rufus Wainwright concert that was at the interior stage of the Koncerthuset. Soon many of the folks that were in the audience left, either to head home or head inside to see Rufus. We stayed to the end. We had to shift our chairs three times to keep in the sun and when it was over we took the M1 metro line back to Copenhagen central.
The ferries were running late and our driver was trying to make up time by pulling into the station before the other ferry has left
