Halmtorvet 9 is the location of our first three Jazz Bands of the festival. We saw Intrio, Satin Jazz and Sophia HP. Intrio was a trio of three ladies with lots of vocals. Satin Jazz was five older men with horns and drums and a stand up bass. Finally Sophie HP was a young lady playing an acoustic guitar with electric guitar backing. The Halmtorvert 9 was a small bar with a medium sized back courtyard. The band was set up in the back and they were well covered. The same could not be said of the attendees. Many got wet when it rained a couple of times, intense at one point but more drizzly the rest of the time. We ordered up a roast beef sandwich but they were out of roast beef so we settled for a chicken curry sandwich. The curry was mild so it did not overwhelm the sandwich, pheww! A great start to the Jazz Festival
