We really did not know what to expect from this "Jazzservice." Was it to be a jazz concert with a side of church or a church service with a side of jazz. Actually it was both. There were hymns to be sung with a jazzy piano accompaniment and there was also a sermon and prayers. But there were at least four standalone tunes both with vocals and without. One of the songs way by Dylan, "Don't THinkl Twice, It's Alright." The church was beautiful although the antique pews made sitting for an hour a bit uncomfortable. Leslie spoke with the Pastor and he said the pews are protected by the "Ministry of All Things Old" and they must stay in the church. We leaned towards this venue because it was inside and we knew rain was on the way. When we emerged from the church after the service, we could see that indeed it had rained while we were inside.
Kayaks rolling down the street
The flying mono-wheel
5 minutes...hmmmm
Wheat and birds
Time for some music
Singing and playing
Inside we see the organ
Angles up on high
This one was Fred Jorden
A beautiful knave
A classic old collar
A ship to remind folks of the seafaring past
Start the jazz!
Time to sing a Danish hymn
"Ain't no use in turning on your light gal"
The sermon
Classic churches in Denmark
Getting ready for the communion
This is the piano player
Here comes the rain again
