We picked "Drinks and Duets with Marie Mørck and Guests" because it is being held in a classic old hotel bar, the Library Bar is located in the Hotel Plaza right next to the train station. We were waiting for the 2A bus to take us there but it was15 minutes over due so we started walking. We saw a taxi stand and jumped in a taxi to save time. The bus never caught up to us and when we passed the next stop there were many people there also waiting on the bus. It is a good thing we bailed on the bus because the Library Bar is very small and we were some of the last folks to get seated. There was a line at the entrance for most of the night. The venue did not disappoint, dark wood paneling, old paintings and photos, a huge skylight, columns, and chandeliers. The Jazz was also great. The Piano player was very much like Michel Bublé, singing and playing the piano. The leader of the band had a wide range and she could really hit the low notes contra alto. A nice Danish couple was seated next to us, Jasper and Tina, who are musical. Jasper plays the piano and Tina is learning how to play the saxaphone. Her teacher was the sax player from the Tivoli last week. The bass player played non-stop and at the end of the concert they announced that he had another gig to get to. Jasper said that they were talking to a bass player who had 5 gigs in one day! He also had four kids so maybe he is used to chaos. We paid for our two drink minimum and said goodbye to Jasper and Tina, perhaps we will see them again.
The quote reads "I like to have a martini, Two at the very most, After three I'm under the table, After four I'm under my host" Dorothey Parker
