Today we spent an hour or two trying to manage our Copenhagen Jazz Festival experience. There is an App and a website for the festival. We eventually came to this system. Open up the website twice, on two different tabs, one tab for the bands and one tab for the venues. The band tab would let us sort by the date of the performance and from there we could look at where that performance would be. Then we would switch over to the venue tab and see the actual address which we would use in Google Maps to find out if the venue is located within a reasonable distance. It may not be an efficient system but it is one that works. So we planned out our Jazz experiences for the next three days. As for today's experience, we already have our Tivoli Pass so we headed over to the Tivoli with a picnic and our chairs. Mads Mathias was the vocalist and sax player and we watched two 45 minute sets. The first set was the edible set featuring all food themed songs; days of wine and roses, cheesecake, black coffee and fried banana were the songs. The second set was all Brazilian jazz songs. We got a plum spot next to the sound guy and watched the concert. We have learned to keep an eye on the weather radar and sure enough there was a squall headed our way. We made it home before the thunder and the downpours. Around 10:30 the sunset was quite nice.
We are in place
The sign is lit up
The venue is ready
All we need is Mads Mathias, the star of the show
He has arrived!
Great music amongst the screams of the roller coaster riders
A silver trombone
A gold saxophone
Is there a bug in his ear?
Second Set
The crowd is enthusiastic, screaming wildly, no wait that is the screaming of the roller coaster riders
Tools of the soundman, tablet, duct tape and a measuring stick
Having a ball with Jägermeister
Le bottoms of the clouds are lit up by the sun
More clouds coming
Good night Copenhagen
Tomorrow is another day
