4 November 2024 Dimaquait Island: Discovery Coron Our Next Resort

We landed and our van was waiting for us. We paid the environmental fee of 400 PHP but we did not have to.  So while we were getting settled in the van the driver went back and got our refund.  Apparently the resort had already paid the fee.  Two young women from Israel, Ofir and Yafa, also got in the van and were heading to the island with us.  We told them our story and they were very excited for us and want to follow in our footsteps someday.  We talked a little bit about politics and the war in Israel.  Then we talked about travel.  The boat ride took about a half hour and then we were at the Discovery Coron Resort.  We landed on the beach and had to walk another duckwalk onto the sand.  We checked in and had to wait for our room.  We had a leisurely lunch and it seemed like it must be mid afternoon but it was only noon!  That is what getting up in the 4:00 hour will do to a person.  We walked down to our cabana and sat in the shade on the beach furniture.  We looked in the windows and saw that the room was still in disarray so Leslie walked back to the front desk to inquire.  They put the cleaning on priority and soon a crew was working feverishly on our room.  Once they were done I went back up to get the key but it had not been cleared yet by a manager so we waited some more.  While I was at the front desk Leslie talked her way in anyway so we went inside to cool off a bit.  It was a long day already.  They had made it up nicely with two towel elephants and flower pedals for our Anniversary.  Very Sweet.  After a cool down we went out and snorkeled for a bit and then came back and showered.  We went to dinner and expected the same menu but it was completely different.  Go figure, the lunch menu was wide ranging and varied and the dinner menu was a single page and kind of boring.
