17 November 2024 Brisbane: A Walk Into the City and a Ferry Ride Back

The heat had abated and the temps were only in the 80's, no sign of rain and a nice breeze to boot.  So it was out and about.  We walked on the over-water walk way down to the Felons Brewery.  Then we went further upriver to the Old Botanical Gardens, our former stomping grounds.  Here we stopped and had our picnic lunch.  The Sunday market was going on so we poked around there and Leslie found a new hat.  It is just what she was looking for, a soft cloths covering the back of her head, a removable chin strap and moisture wicking fabric to keep her cool.  From the market we walked to the ferry and rode it back to New Farm.  Many folks were out on a Sunday enjoying the river.

Big red blooms

In the Kangaroo Point area the river flows in a bit of a canyon with tall bluffs on either side

This man was playing some sort of flute instrument

The bridge leads to the top of the bluffs and the brewery spreads out at river level

Room enough for many hundreds of beer drinkers

The big dig!

Across the river there is a park

A fuzzy little Chikwawa

Very cute

We got some mango icecream

The feet of the ibis are huge

Yes we are talking about your feet

A mightily small net

Not big enough to catch a scooter

Several quaint wooden structures on a raised walkway

Electical...not electrical

This is the walkway where we walked along to begin the trip
