We walked along the river and saw several pairs of joggers socializing more than exercising. Both activities are healthy so there was no judgement from us. We got to the New Farm park where there was a bring your baby picnic. The river water was splashing up on the sidewalk here even though it was not high tide. The Power House is a repurposed building that has meeting spaces and a few theaters as well. It is ringed by street art and some large art installations. We went inside to check the schedule of events and to serendipitously soak up some AC. We kept walking through the formerly lush rose gardens and had to wonder what happened to them. Many beds were almost bare with only a few spindly rose bushes in them. Further afield we made it to the pharmacy to fill the prescriptions we received last week. We stopped into a butchers shop because they advertised bush meat. Some kangaroo mince looked good so we bought it. They did not have any camel. I asked because Australia has more camels that the mid-East does and they are the largest exporter of camel meat in the world. the butcher said it was easier to export meat from Australia than it is to sell it internally. So my long neglected carnivore list must wait for camel to be available somewhere else.
A very early wake up this morning as they started to remove the scaffolding next door at 7 AM
So much construction
We reviewed the river ferries routes
Not bad for fifty cents a ride
More construction across the river
The tide seemed to be out but water still splashed up on the walkway
Nice riverside mansion
A welcome swallow
Zipping by our heads
Made it to the Power House Area
Great sign
Cool street art
It is a large re-purposed building with theaters and other spaces inside
Comedy show
Large fish sculpture
Swimming into the wall
Another one coming out of the wall on the side of the building
A truck made out of stone
A mural on the wall
Inclusive cow
At first this looked like an add for an art show but there was no show inside
I noticed this Ibis from a distance. It was different from the others and sure enough ti was a new lifbird, Australian Straw Ibis
The rose garden have fewer roses than two years ago
Still some nice bllooms
The city off in the distance

Such beautiful birds
Thick Knees and all
Who lives in these boxes?
This thick knee looked like a sculpture
The beaks on the magpies are very pretty
A large tent with shopping carts lined up outside. We actually saw a trash bin there the day earlier
A spectacular hibiscus
A very deep red in the center
We had never seen this monkey tail cactus in bloom before
At first we thought a mouse was visiting and eating our peach
So we bought a mouse trap
Upon further reflection we decided to get a bigger weapon to deal with the mouse. It turned out the gouge in the fruit was from removing the sticker and not an actual mouse bite
