From the Taro museum we walked a short distance to get to the Nezu Museum and Gardens. We had a 4 PM ticket for the museum but it was only 3PM. We did not want to be rushed if the place was going to close at 5PM so we stood in line and got in early. This turned out to be a great idea for us. We did not spend a huge amount of time in the museum, there were lots of people and the weather was so nice we wanted to get to the gardens. The collection had a great many antiquities, over 7,600 items in total. Many of the items were one of a kind with 7 items designated as National Treasures. Since no photography was allowed in the museum all the pictures are from the garden. The museum and gardens are situated on the former family residence. The gardens are richly decorated with many statues and four tea houses. The expansive iris beds were in full bloom and we were overwhelmed bu the absolute beauty of the place. Wow what a great day for our 700th on the road.
Waiting n line only took 15 minutes
A large marker in the parking area
Bamboo is used in the facade
Stylized markers
The walkways zigged and zagged to get the maximum amount of paths in this relatively small garden area
I wonder if the wood is supposed to be in the mouth of this beast
The density of sculptural items is higher than in any other garden so far
A great bell
The detailed dragons on top
These must have been collected along with the items inside the museum
The paths wound around the water
In the water were the irises
We had to wait for a clear shot without people
Some times that was impossible
The red maple trees added color
The water was very flat and could have used a bit of flow
An old well head
Millstones were used n the creation of the paths
I was trying to get reflections

Even the fancy gate gets the Prada name
It was very busy by the train station
