We had planned on more shopping like we had done the day previous. But the weather was threatening and around 1 PM it was downright dangerous. Heavy rain, high wind and thunderstorm warnings were all in effect. We sat it out waiting for a window in the weather and at 3:30 we took the chance. We walked over to the LCBO (the official Liquor Outlet), the dry cleaners, the drug store and the Sobey food store. We were taking our time shopping, believing that the weather had passed. However when we came out we saw that storms had reformed and were now bearing down on us. We walked back with a bit more pep in our step and got home with only minutes to spare. We then sat through another hour or or two of rain and storms. However this time it was right on top of us and so we got to experience the brunt of it. Once it had really cleared up we took a walk over to the mouth of the Humber River and the took pedestrian bridge over the river.
A bit of Tibet here in Canada
So tempting
Dicey weather
Watching the storm finish up
The Lake Ontario Monster
Or just a monster log
Great contrasts in lighting
More bands of rain
Standing waves where the river meets the lake
Not a place to be in with a small boat
We were keeping an eye on some counter rotating clouds
Image stolen from a news site
Serious flooding just a few miles away
It has stopped so we came out for a look
The sun peeked out to illuminate Toronto
Layers of different water
Osprey
It was looking for something to eat in all the flood debris
Mr. Bunny is out for a nibble, just don't become a nibble for the Osprey
Looking pretty
Large breakwaters are built to keep the shoreline from eroding
A very nice pedestrian bridge
handing over the fast flowing river
The muddy flow
Strange place to see huge ropes that go all the way to the top of the building
These ropes are for window cleaners, adventure excursion. ropes holding the building down?
Selfie from the bridge with the roped up building in the background
Nice snake, with scales, on the bridge support
The mouth of the Humber River
Trumpeter Swans
Some huge rocks at the mouth of the river
Looking back to Etobicoke
The sun is setting
The nearly full moon is rising
Still some wispy clouds
