The day after Easter Sunday is yet another national holiday in Spain, that is four of the last five days. We had domestic matters to attend to, wash, unpacking, setting up the printer, more wash and such. This was mostly completed by mid afternoon and we decided that since we still have the car it would be fun to just drive into the city and take a peek. It was fairly easy as the holiday traffic was at a minimum. There are numerous speed cameras on the highway so I tried to keep the velocity on track. We found a parking spot and walked around a bit. First we went to the Dragon shop, then a florist shop and a bodega for a few items. The parking issue will be our biggest challenge when venturing back into the city. Even on a holiday we saw only one open parking spot, which is the one we took. Once we turn the car back in we will be taking the trains. We can see the train station, Montgat Nord, that we will be using from our balcony so it is very close. Fully stocked up, it was back to the apartment and we spent the rest of the time plotting out our next week and getting tickets to various venues about town. We also spent a good amount of time up on the top deck soaking up the sun and watching the swifts and house martins fly this way and that. These birds are our favorite kind of birds to watch. They are such great flyers and so graceful in the sky. There are two types that fly around our building and the common swift is a new one for our birdlist!
Gaudi's famous cathedral off in the distance
Grand buildings are the norm
Ships both large and small ply these waters
Cruising north
Different kinds of birds, animal and mineral
Common Swift
Spotless Starling

Hungry Starling
What do we have outside this door?
A magnificent outdoor space
Artificial grass and everything
Chairs, tables, clothes lines and a grill!
The setting sun lighting up this sailboat
Small in the right big on the left
At one point we saw 15 or 20 swifts flying together like dolphins at a bait ball
The sun is setting and we need to settle down as well
The day closes and but the birds keep flying
It has been 309 days since we began our migration
