The drive was 3.5 hours and that meant we needed a place to stop. At the two hour mark was a tiny town in the mountains, Alhama de Aragon. We pulled over, found a parking place and we started walking. We stopped in to a shop and were offered a shot of vermouth as a greeting. We waved off the hooch but bought some dried venison, chorizo and one giant chocolate bar. The bar was 500 g which is 1.1 pounds of chocolate! Yum. There was a small market on the other side of the creek selling shoes and vegetables. There was a section of road work going on while we walked past and we noticed a guy up in a window on the second floor. We had a pair of binoculars and was watching the road work that was 20 feet away from him. I guess this kind of excitement does not go on that often in this town. We worked out the kinks and jumped back in the car.
